The ideal candidate would reside in the Orange County or Inland Empire area. However, the servicing territory will include throughout the Southern California area.

About the Opportunity

This is a highly visible role working with some of Zenith's largest and most complex customers. While the ideal candidate will reside in Orange County or the Inland Empire, the assigned territory spans the Southern California region. As the Large Accounts Safety & Health Service Specialist, you will serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership teams, risk managers, and operational stakeholders across large, multi-location organizations. You'll develop innovative risk management strategies, guide account service teams, and influence meaningful organizational change that improves safety performance and reduces workers' compensation losses. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend technical safety expertise, business consulting, client relationship management, and service leadership.

Responsibilities

 

What You'll Do

Lead Strategic Client Partnerships

  • Serve as the primary Safety & Health manager for large customers.
  • Build trusted relationships with executives, operational leaders, and risk management professionals.
  • Influence organizational decision-makers to implement meaningful risk improvement strategies.

Drive Safety Performance and Loss Reduction

  • Evaluate work-related injury and illness exposures, operational risks, and safety management systems.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce employee injury frequency and severity through engineering, administrative, and behavioral controls.
  • Analyze trends and leverage data-driven insights to prioritize risk improvement initiatives.

Manage Complex Service Programs

  • Develop and oversee customized service plans for national and regional accounts.
  • Manage service delivery across multiple locations, ensuring consistency, quality, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with underwriting and cross-functional partners to support profitable business growth.

Provide Leadership and Expertise

  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to fellow Zenith Safety & Health professionals supporting assigned accounts.
  • Review recommendations and service strategies to ensure high-quality outcomes.
  • Partner with regional and corporate leaders to advance service excellence and innovation.

Deliver Meaningful Results

  • Design cause-directed injury prevention and claim cost reduction solutions that drive engagement, accountability, and lasting organizational improvement.
  • Develop executive-level reports, presentations, and year-end business reviews.

Education

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with preferred field of study in occupational safety, industrial hygiene, science, or engineering required.
  • Safety and/or health-related Master’s Degree; or at least one recognized professional designation such as CSP, ARM or CIH required.

Work Experience

 

    • 5+ years safety and health experience; with proven track record of results coordinating service to large and multi-location accounts required.
    • Familiarity with P&C insurance agent and broker operations strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

 

  • Strong ability to obtain, analyze and report loss data that clearly defines loss problem significance and points toward specific safety and health service focus.
  • Knowledge of workers’ compensation insurance; including strong understanding of experience modification, underwriting, loss sensitive plans, and claims practices.
  • Working knowledge of return to work program features and benefits.
  • Strong understanding of key performance measures for workers’ compensation insurance carrier and how safety & health dept. impacts financial performance.
  • Basic understanding of occupational medicine provider network features and benefits.
  • Effective communication, sales, and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other common business software.
  • Ability to learn and use proprietary Zenith systems.
  • Driver License in good standing.

 

 

Pay, Benefits, and Other Information

The expected salary range for this position is $120,700.92 - $150,876.16. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, geographic location, and other job-related factors as permitted by law. Qualifications may warrant placement in a different job level.
